What is Google but a search engine!

Ever wondered how search engines that you know in this web2 age came to existence! I just stumbled upon an article titled The Evolution of Search. Take a look at that white paper - nice reading!

I move from this forum to that and everywhere I find a lot of web masters take Google for granted in respect to security and quality! Most of them treat Google as a GOD like Omnipotent self without any doubt!

Why!

Is Google anything but a search engine that provides you better result simply to stay ahead in the business! After all it is a business organization.

Ask a question in any forum, ‘should I use Google webmaster tool’! The answer is bound to be positive ‘best free tool to track your website’. I don’t disagree to it. That’s true. But have you ever wondered why it is such that when you search for back-links using Google tool-bar option you never get the exact result! Whereas the web master tool provides you much better result!

Whenever you are using Google Urchin Tracker (this product was not developed by Google, it bought it and made it free – Why!!!) to manage your website stat, isn’t Google getting all the information about your site! Same is my concern with Yahoo!

Even if you are doing white hat SEO, would you like to share all your sensitive data with Google! You are the one to answer!

Should there be any authoritative body to monitor search engines – Which will make search engines answerable for whatever they are providing!

I know that I am challenging the basic concept of internet – where there should not be any authoritative body – but is there any other way out when Google is taking that position vary fast!

Where do you see Internet 10 years down the line!

Please comment if you can ‘think on your own’ (remember: Google told me that you came).
